DIY Lab Pass
This is, essentially, a 4-pass punchcard that allows the holder to visit the lab (4 times) to hand process and/or scan their own film. If you enjoy hand-processing your own film but don’t have the space or equipment, or you just want to save some money on scanning (or want all the control) — this could be a great, affordable option for you. If you know what you’re doing, you can easily process or scan 20+ rolls of film in a day. And for photographers that are simply wanting to learn, it’s a good low-pressure option with someone there to help if you need it.
However, this pass does not give the holder access to the print darkroom, daylight studio, or C-41 processor (those are reserved for Artists-In-Residence only). Hand-process equipment and scan lab only, BUT they will be allowed to use anything else that is on hand in the lab, including any available chemistry, etc.
When scanning, you are welcome to use the lab’s equipment. However, it is a highly adaptable setup, so you may wish to bring your own computer and/or DSLR or medium format digital camera equipment to customize your workflow to your needs.
If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out first!
The holder must reach out to schedule visits at least 48hrs beforehand.
